Backs Usnea is a tincture of Usnea barbata, an alpine lichen. Usnea has been used medicinally for at least 1600 years. Usnic acid a potent antibiotic and antifungal agent is found in all species. Usnea barbata is used as an antibiotic, primarily in lung and upper respiratory tract infections, Usnea has also been used as an antibiotic for gram-positive bacteria, and as an antifungal agent. In addition it can be used as a precaution against Trichomonades and Coccides and it increases resistance to respiratory problems.

Active ingredients contained in 100 ml:

100 ml tincture of Usnea barbata 1:10 according to Ph. Eur. 4.0

Dosage:

5 x 1 ml Usnea barbata daily in 1 liter of water.

Duration of use:

For the preparation of breeding and racing period we recommend a five-day course before mating or training flights. During the racing period once at the start of the week in the drinking water. During the moulting twice a week.
