This mixture is specially prepared for the pigeon breeders who like to be active with their birds. The birds have to be prepared for the sportive elements and have to be in very good condition. Suitable for Tumblers, Tipplers, Rollers and High Flyers.

Why should I feed Matador?

If you are looking for a good pigeon food it is very important that it has the properties your special breed needs.

You have probably already looked through the professional journals and books to find some information. A good professional food for the breeding season should contain at least 17 to 18% raw proteins. That is the general opinion. The latest scientific research now offers us other solutions. Which one?

To have 17% raw proteins the food must contain many peas. The legume is very rich in protein, but it also has a negative effect on the bird’s condition. Why? The pigeon is limited to digest just 30% of the available protein in the legume. All the rest is ballast and to get rid of that will take a lot of energy and produce more droppings.

Is there another way?

Matador is developing a new way in the pigeon world. Not crude protein, but protein which the animal can absorb: absorbable protein.

This protein is found in all high-fat seeds. So Matador is a food which contains fewer legumes and more fat/rich seed. We found out that young birds grow faster and are livelier and have better feathering. The older birds are in much better condition because there is no extra ballast. Better breeding results and always good condition.

Which high-fat seeds?

The feed is adjusted to the latest scientific knowledge for a good balance of fatty acids. By using too much Omega 6 in the diet, intestinal and airway inflammation can easily arise.

An optimal balance between Omega 3 and 6 (omega ratio) strengthens the immune system. Unfortunately a lot of mixes have a bad ratio between them. Safflower seed and sunflower seed in the mixture is not good, but rapeseed and linseed is ideal.

That is why I feed Matador.

What are the benefits? The pigeons remain in better health and have stronger immune systems. The feathering is super smooth, with beautiful pink skin and the eyes are bright and clear. The droppings are firm and smooth.

You will use at least 10% to 20% less food, by the high absorbable protein and much less harmful substances.

Therefore one can say: Matador offers value for money. It is worth it’s price.
